Dividida en dos volúmenes (como "Kill Bill"), el año pasado se estrenó en cines japoneses la continuación de esta larguísima saga de yakuzas creada por el mangaka Tatsuo Nitta en el 89 para la revista "Manga Sunday", que había sido adaptada al vídeo desde el 91 (también hay una única versión en anime de ese mismo año).

En el año 99 se rodó la primera versión para el cine, dirigida por Tsutomu Kashima, pero esta nueva versión parte de cero y tiene un reparto y director diferentes.

"Shizukanaru Don Shinsho" (The Quiet Don: A New Chapter), que es el título de esta nueva versión, se estrenó en septiembre del 2009 y su nuevo director es Hideo Jojo (un especialista en pelis de serie B) y sus intérpretes son Yoshihiko Hakamada, Emi Kobayashi y Daisuke Nagakura.

[ Story ]
The film version of the popular 'Shizukanaru Don' (*Yakuza Side Story) comic, which has sold 42 million copies in Japan. The story vividly depicts the double life of the hero, who during the day is a typical office worker at an lingerie company, but in his other life is a boss in the Kanto region's largest crime syndicate, the Shinsen clan. The director is Jojo Hideo, who has shown his outstanding talent in a number of genre films, such as his works at Japanese V-Cinema industry, direct-to-video industry. Kondo Shizuya (Hakamada Yoshihiko) is an ordinary office worker, but when a rival crime organization kills his father, he inherits the title of the third boss in the Shinsen clan. So begins his double identity of reluctant crime boss and office worker; but gradually his abilities start to reveal themselves.
